Today’s the Day!
March 1, 2024 / K.I.S.
Just a short post to announce the release of my eBook on KDP (Amazon) today. The Assays of Ata began as a fun, not-too-serious project where I wrote a fantasy story episode by episode for consumption by my sisters. Fast-forward 5 months, and I’ve self-published (with the enthusiastic encouragment of the aforementioned siblings) with another two books planned to complete the story arc.
Despite still floundering a bit in terms of knowing how things work and how to get the most out of reviews and promotions, I’ve at least taken a step forward in honing my writing skills. Once I’ve ironed out the last few grammar gremlins in the manuscript, print copies of the novel will also be available on Amazon.
Although I’ve plotted both the next two books in the trilogy, and have written two chapters of The Trials of Ata, I am currently looking into putting together an audiobook of Assays (another field of which I had no concept of how it works, yet now I’ve dived in head-first).
Additionally, I’ve got a collection of short stories I’ve been writing that’s been in the works for over 2 years now (and pre-dates Ata’s conceptualisation), so hopefully I can finalise that in a timeous way. All I’m going to say is: it involves my favourite feline pets and veers away from the more classical fantasy genre of Assays.
Hopefully I can keep busy in a meaningfully productive way and avoid fixating on Assays‘ numbers and circulation… I should continue to remind myself that the reason I decided to publish wasn’t to become some great shakes, grandiose author, but to be able to share my story with people who might find a measure of enjoyment in it.
Lastly, please look into the giveaways of The Assays of Ata I’m offering on LibraryThing and Goodreads (details on my welcome page). Otherwise, it’s available on Kindle Unlimited, or for purchase from Amazon.
As always, happy reading, and may all your bookish experiences manifest in your lives in some tangibly constructive way
